I understand that you’re going to have questions with a new service such as mine and that’s ok! I’ve tried to include some of the most common questions I hear from potential and current clients. If you don’t see the answer to your question answered below then please feel free to contact me.


What are the fees involved with your service?

ANSWER: There are no hidden fees with the service. The pricing structure is as follows:

  • The ACTUAL price of the groceries (sales etc.)
  • A delivery fee of $10 for supermarkets/pet stores/drug stores and a charge of $15 for big-box stores such as BJs
  • A Platform Fee of 5% of the total cost of the groceries. This covers credit card and order processing
  • Shopper tip which can vary from 15% and up based on how you enjoyed the service
  • I will do my absolute best to ensure you are paying the least amount possible for in-store items!

Can I add items to my order?

ANSWER: You can add to your cart up until the moment I start shopping. If you forgot to add an item or two I would be happy to add it while I am in the store however I do base my shopping schedules based on order size so the addition of multiple items may result in a $5 upcharge.

Will I receive a receipt?

ANSWER: YES! unlike other major platforms who don’t provide store receipts due to outrageous mark-ups on products, Scott Will Shop will always provide you your actual printed grocery receipt as well as a digital receipt outlining shopping costs and tip.

Will I receive a confirmation of my order?

ANSWER: YES! I will contact you upon receipt of the order and when I start shopping and delivering.

Do you charge for heavy items?

ANSWER: Unlike the major platforms I DO NOT charge heavy pay currently. If the system starts to be abused I will consider instituting a heavy order fee. A heavy fee may be added for orders containing multiple cases of water (3 or more) or 40-pound bags of dog food. I am not an institutional delivery service but a personal shopper.

Can you deliver alcohol, cigarettes, lottery tickets/gift cards?

ANSWER: I have nothing against either habit but unfortunately I can not purchase these items due to restrictions with our payment service.

Can I cancel an order?

ANSWER: It is understandable that situations may arise that result in the cancellation of an order. Please communicate with me in advance of cancelling so I can adjust my schedule accordingly or possibly move the order to a different day.

What is the best way to order?

ANSWER: The best way to order is by scheduling in the Square App and sending me a list either by using another platforms list (like Instacart or Dumpling) or by sending me a photo of a handwritten list. I recommend using the ANYLIST app since you can share your list with me electronically.

Do I need to be a member to shop at a big box store?

ANSWER: You do not need to have a membership to a big box store to place an order I have memberships at all the stores I represent. I’ve got you covered!

Do I need to have a credit card to place an order?

ANSWER: All orders are conducted via credit cards so it will be necessary to have one. You must add your credit card to the Square app before placing an order. 

What about bags for delivery?

ANSWER: New York State has a ban on plastic bags. I have acquired a supply of plastic bags that I can use for your orders or at the big box stores, I utilize cardboard boxes. If paper bags are available those will be used and added to the cost of the service. In most cases, it is under $1.00 additional for bags.

Can you shop multiple stores for me?

ANSWER: Another benefit of Scott Will Shop over platforms like Instacart is that I can shop multiple stores. It is required for you to enter two separate orders but I will work with you on delivery fees and discount the entire order to ensure you are happy. Let me know in advance and I will take care of you.

Do you accept EBT as a form of payment?

ANSWER: It is against the law for me to accept or use and EBT card that is not my own as a form of payment for groceries.  

Do you offer pick up only options?

ANSWER: I do offer a pick-up/delivery option in the app. This option is used for items like prescriptions, meat from the butcher, restaurants, etc. You can call the order in or I can do so myself on your behalf. Pricing is in the app under the delivery only option. 

What precautions are you taking during the Covid-19 pandemic?

ANSWER: I take the health of your family and mine extremely seriously.  Prior to entering a store I sanitize my hands and apply a certified mask and gloves. After shopping and before entering my car to deliver I remove my gloves and sanitize once again. Before exiting my car at your home to drop off your groceries I sanitize again and apply a FRESH pair of gloves. Each shop for me requires 2 pairs of gloves. 

Is my financial information secure?

ANSWER: Of course! Square encrypts all payment information making it difficult for anyone to intercept payment data as it is being processed or stored. I do not have access to your credit card information at any time.
